Girl Scout Troop 1197 Lake Hills Service Unit Donation
On Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, the Lake Hills Service Unit Girl Scout Troop 1197 volunteers to help at the PawMatch PetSmart Bee Cave location. The girls were so excited about helping, they showed up early and had the whole site set up before the dogs even arrived! Each member of the troop made a poster promoting the adoption of PawMatch animals. They also provided bandannas for each of the dogs and puppies and even collected over $100 and some dog food to be donated to PawMatch. Not only did they help promote the dogs, but they also helped walk and wash them. (See Troop 1197 in action!) This community service effort should help them all get their Caring For Your Pet badges. Let's hope they come back again soon to help again.
August 27: Lake Point/Uplands Boy Scout Troop 52 Donation

Presentation of over $500 in donations to PawMatch
The Squirrel Patrol Boy Scout Troop #52 with PetSmart Bee Cave Manager Cindy McNeil and PawMatch Founder Andy Odam with the very generous donation
PawMatch was very fortunate to have been adopted by the Lake Pointe/Uplands
Boy Scout Troop 52 (the Squirrel Patrol) for their community service project.
The took it upon themselves to go door-to-door with solicitation letters and
bags to ask for supplies greatly needed by the PawMatch organization. Let us
tell you, these young men were more than successful and on Sunday, August
27, 2006, delivered an unbelievable amount of food, toys, collars, leashes,
treats, carriers, dog houses, food bowls, beds, cat litter and more. But they
did not stop there, as they also solicited and donated over $500 in cash and
checks to PawMatch. Once again, their efforts did not end there either, as
each member of the troop also spent the afternoon volunteering at the PetSmart
Bee Cave site; helping walk, wash and train the puppies and dogs. (See
Troop 52 in action!) We thank them, their parents, and the community for
such a generous donation and wonderful help. You're welcome back any time!
Jonathan DeLong's Birthday Party
What do most kids want for their birthday? Toys, toys, and more toys! But Jonathan is different, as he's a regular volunteer for PawMatch. His birthday party invitations included notes that stated: "Jonathan volunteers with PawMatch-a non-profit animal rescue group. He is asking tht instead of gifts that you bring a contribution for PawMatch. We will have a jar to put these in as Jon opens cards/gifts. If you are needing to write a check, it can be made to PawMatch. We look forward to seeing you all." So on Saturday, January 7, 2006, he celebrated his milestone at the Petco on Brodie. The party had everything including balloons, drawing, birds, reptiles, dogbone shaped treats, and lots of puppies to play with. (Join in the fun they had.) After all the festivities though, Jonathan opened his gifts and his partygoers were more than generous. In fact, at the end of his party, Jonathan was able to donate $223.00 to Mac McGregor from PawMatch and some of his guests even signed volunteer applications to come back to help PawMatch. And after all of that, he came back on Sunday to do his regular volunteer hours.
Jonathan, we thank you so much for not only all of your volunteer hours, but your sincere generousity! And thanks to Petco for allowing him this special opportunity.
Lemonade for Jack

Obie and his sister Emily have had several lemonade stands and balloon sculpting stands at the Brodie location to raise money for Jack,a dog in need of a $2000.00 liver surgery. They have even had a neighborhood lemonade stand! Obie and Emily raised over $400.00. They spend many hours on the weekend and Thursday and Friday walking, bathing, playing, and just entertaining the dogs. They also help set-up and tear down. They truly love this experience and is it has been a real blessing to them. Our most sincere thanks to these two wonderful volunteers!
Girl Scout Troop 1829

This is Girl Scout Troop 1829, Midtown Service Unit, Lone Star Girl Scout Council. They spent the part of their volunteer day helping PawMatch by walking, socializing, and washing the dogs. Their fashion sense helped too, by providing bandannas so our pups looked extra special. Thanks for all your help and hope you can come back soon!
Jennifer's Story
I have been volunteering for one year and my first dog I adopted from P.A.W.S.
was after I worked there for three months. I adopted a dog which was a puppy
with a broken leg that got hit by a car. It's a girl dog, her name is Lucky
because she didn't die or lose a leg. She is a Siberian Husky mixed with Golden
Lab. I saw on the computer three cute little Golden Retrievers. My mom picked
me up early from school. It was my mom's birthday and Andy from P.A.W.S. told
us that he had them at PetSmart, so we already knew that we wanted one so we
bought the boy puppy and named him Sammy, and took him home.—Jennifer
